Loitering Incident Leads To Warrant Arrest In Southington

A truck stop loitering incident turned into a warrant arrest.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A loitering incident at a Southington truck stop led to the discovery of a warrant against a Meriden man, police said.

Police on Wednesday responded to the T/A Travel Center on a report of a suspicious male

who had been loitering in the area.

Police said they did locate a man, identified as David Dionizio, 54, of Meriden, matching the description provided. While speaking with Dionizio, officers found that he had an active arrest warrant out of Southington, according to a report.

The warrant, which charged Dionizio with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree harassment, and second-degree threatening, resulted from more than 20 threatening voicemail messages the accused left for someone on April 30, according to a report.

He was held overnight on a $100,000 court-set bond and was to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Thursday, police said.

Citing a domestic classification, police saif the victim’s identity is not being released.
