'Lost' Credit Card Shopping Spree in Southington Leads to Charges

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A woman has been arrested for a Southington credit card fraud incident, police said.
On July 26, Alissa Capaldo, 26, of Waterbury, surrendered at Southington Police Headquarters on an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
The warrant, which charged her with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny on a revoked credit card, criminal attempt to commit larceny on a revoked credit card and conspiracy to commit credit card theft, stemmed from Capadlo and an accomplice claiming a lost wallet at a local grocery store and stating that they knew the owner and would get it back to him, police said.

Once the wallet was in their possession they used the credit cards to purchase items for themselves at
several stores in the area, police said.

Capaldo was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on
Aug. 7, police said.
