Lunch & Learn: Staying hydrated for good health

Learn why drinking adequate water is optimum for better health: free lunch program, May 10, noon, Hospital of Central CT, New Britain

NEW BRITAIN – With the body primarily composed of water, hydration is vital to maintain optimum health. Water controls body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure as well as removes waste. Without adequate water, the body’s organs can shut down and an individual can experience anxiety, confusion, sleepiness, inability to stand, rapid breathing and increased pulse among additional problems. A free Lunch & Learn about hydration will be held Thursday, May 10, noon-1 pm., at Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain campus, 100 Grand St. Topics include the importance of hydration, its impact on the body, common myths, and how to identify signs and combat dehydration. Presenter will be Nicholas Arsenault, MSN, RN, CCM, transitional care nurse. The event is sponsored by Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging.

A complimentary light lunch will be served. Seating is limited and registration is required. To RSVP, call Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging, 1.877.424.4641 or email HHC.CenterRSVP@hhchealth.org.
