Major Southington Nonprofit Seeks Gift Card Donations

Locally-based 'Bread for Life' is asking the community to donate gift cards of any denomination through Dec. 20.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local nonprofit dedicated to helping Southington residents battling food insecurity is asking the community to spread some charitable warmth this holiday season.

Southington-based "Bread for Life," is conducting a gift card drive through Dec. 20 to distribute to those in need this month.

The organization is seeking gift cards of any denomination for a wide variety of area establishments, such as Dunkin' Donuts, Dollar Store, Subway, Burger King, Walmart, area supermarkets, etc.

Denominations can be as low as $5, but amounts of any kind are welcome.

"A small donation can make a huge difference for someone in need," wrote Bread for Life in an announcement.

Bread for Life is utilizing two area businesses as drop-off points for gift cards. They are:

• Good Guys Auto House, 1103 Queen St., Southington.

• Worldwide Wine & Spirits, 480 Queen St., Southington.
