Man, 40, Charged In Southington Gas Station Robbery: Police
Southington police said the suspect was charged with robbing the same gas station in 2016.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Plainville man was charged Monday in connection with a gas station in Southington on Sunday night and, police said, he's been charged with robbing that site before.
According to the Southington Police Department Tuesday morning, Gregory West, 40, of East Street, Plainville, was charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny in connection with the incident.
He was being held on $350,000 bond before a court appearance Tuesday in New Britain Superior Court.

West is accused of robbing the Fleet gas station at 1611 Meriden Waterbury Turnpike in Southington at about 9:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.
According to police, officers were called to the station Sunday night and they learned a suspect entered the store and demanded the cash register drawer from the store clerk.

Police said the suspect, identified as West, then threatened to injure the clerk after the clerk initially refused to turn over the entire register.
Ultimately, according to the SPD, the clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and he left the area in a vehicle that was captured on video surveillance.
That's when the Southington Police Department’s FLOCK system was used to obtain the license plate of the suspect vehicle, which was a rental, police said.
The investigation led police to identify West as a suspect and, police said, investigators were familiar with him because he had been previously arrested in 2016 for robbing the same gas station.
On Monday, an arrest warrant was applied for and granted charging West, who was taken into custody by Southington officers near his residence in Plainville.
