Man, 81, Smears Blood Inside Southington Home During Altercation: Warrant

An argument kept escalating and the man began smearing blood in a local home, police said.

SOUTHINGTON — An 81-year-old Southington man smeared blood inside a local home during an incident earlier in the week, police said.

At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Don Ubertalli, 81 of Southington, was arrested via warrant at his residence, police said. Ubertalli was charged with disorderly conduct and was to appear in court Thursday, police said.

The warrant stems from a domestic violence incident on Jan 2 at a local home, police said. Ubertalli allegedly began yelling at a woman about what police said was "a real estate issue."

As Ubertalli was yelling at the woman, he cornered her in the kitchen, police said.

The woman walked away from Ubertalli and locked herself in a bedroom, but Ubertalli began to bang on the door and yell at the woman, police said.

When the woman exited the bedroom, she found blood smeared on the door.

The argument continued and, during the course of the altercation, Ubertalli allegedly struck the woman and also smeared more blood in other sections of the residence.

No injuries were reported, police said.
