Man Accused of Burglarizing Car in Southington Plaza
A Naugatuck man is accused of burglarizing the car of a Southington Supermarket employee while the employee was at work, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Naugatuck man is accused of burglarizing the car of a Southington Supermarket employee while the employee was at work, police said.
On Monday, James Michael Young, 36, of Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft, the illegal use of a credit card, third-degree identity theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report.
Police said they responded to the Shop Rite plaza, 650 Queen St., to investigate a vehicle burglary complaint. An employee of the Shop Rite supermarket had left a wallet and a sweatshirt in a vehicle and went into work. The employee returned to the vehicle on a break to find the wallet and sweatshirt missing.

The employee received several notifications that his debit card had been used in the area to the tune of $204.21, according to a report.
Officers reviewed video surveillance footage, identified the suspect at Young and were able to locate him at the Motel 6 on Queen Street, a report indicates.

Young was taken into custody and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
He was held pending a $25,000 bond Monday morning and was scheduled to appear in Bristol Court later in the day, police said.
