Man Charged After Slamming Woman's Head on Dashboard: Police

A man smashed a woman's head against the dashboard of a vehicle before being arrested, Southington police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man ignored a protective order and smashed a woman's head against the dashboard of a vehicle before being arrested, Southington police said.

The incident was On July 5, police said.

In addition to a charge of violating the protective order, Ryan McCormack, 38, of Southington, was charged with breach of peace, third-degree assault and third-degree strangulation, police said.

The charges resulted from a dispute McCormack had with a woman who the protective warned him about seeing, police said. During the dispute he allegedly pushed her head into the dashboard of a vehicle, bit her ear, and choked her to the point where she was not able to breathe, police said.

The woman sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment, police said.

McCormack posted a $75,000 bond and is due in court on July 25, court records show.
