Man Charged After Tirade at Southington Gas Station: Cops

A man was arrested after a destructive tirade at a gas station, Southington police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man is facing several criminal charges after a destructive tirade at a local gas station Sunday, police said.

Ryan Garry, 24, was charged with second-degree threatening, third-degree criminal mischief, interfering with an officer and second-degree breach of peace.

The charges stemmed from an incident at the Citgo gas station at 202 Main St.

Garry is accused of entering the store, verbally threatening the clerk and throwing car credit/debit card pin pad at the clerk, according to a report.

A report indicates Garry walked out of the store and the clerk locked him out. Garry then allegedly attempted to smash the glass doors of the store with a metal newspaper stand, police said.

Police arrived at the scene and Garry fled, only to be taken into custody without further incident a short distance away, according to a report.

The accused was held overnight on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Monday.
