Man Charged With Busting Up Southington Apartment
A dispute escalated into thousands in damage to a Southington apartment, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT – A Southington resident is facing a rare but serious charge for allegedly busting up an apartment in town, police said.
Jamil Said, 28, was arrested on Dec. 21, police said. Police had obtained a warrant charging him with first-degree damage to a landlord's property.
The incident took place in March, police said. During a dispute, Said allegedly damaged items in the apartment he was renting, including two televisions, a gas heater, a microwave oven, laptop computer and the laminate kitchen countertop, police said. He put multiple holes in the sheetrock of the apartment, police said.

The total value of the damages was in excess of $6,000, police said.
