Man Charged for Fleeing Southington Truck Stop

The man was arrested for the June incident, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man has been charged for speeding away from a local truck stop after police tried to question him, according to a report.

On Monday, Steven Aberg, age 28, of New Haven was arrested at Bristol Superior Court on an outstanding

warrant and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. reckless driving, and disobeying the signal of an officer, police said.

The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred on June 18, at the T/A Travel Center, police said. Police received a report that a man was passed out in a vehicle in the parking lot, according to a report.

An officer arrived and started to make contact with the male, who then put his vehicle in drive and drove away at a high rate of speed, police said.

He hit a curb before exiting the parking lot, police said. .

The man was identified as Aberg, police said.
