Man Charged With Prescription Fraud in Southington

A man was charged with prescription fraud in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man has been charged with trying to obtain prescription drugs illegally, police said.

On Tuesday, Herbert Batista, 59, of Waterbury, was charged with illegally obtaining a
prescription and second-degree forgery, police said.

He is accused of entering the CVS store at 326 Main St. in Southington and presenting a fake prescription to the pharmacist, police said.

Batista was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on May 7, police said.
