Man Charged In Sex Case Involving Girl At Southington Motel

A man has been charged in a sex assault case involving a child and a Southington motel, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man accused of sexually assaulting as child in Southington was to appear in court Wednesday, police said.

Police released the details of the April 12 arrest on Wednesday. Carlos Padilla, 21, of New Britain, was arrested at Bristol Superior Court on an outstanding warrant, police said.

The warrant charged him with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor, according to a report.

The charges are the result of incidents that occurred at a Southington motel in August and September of 2018, police said. Padilla is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl, according to a report.

He is in custody on a $250,000 bond, records show.
