A man involved in a police chase two months ago in Southington has been charged.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man involved in a police chase two months ago in Southington has been charged.
On Aug. 2, Richard Paladino, 30, of New Britain was arrested on an outstanding warrant, police said.
The warrant charged him with engaging police in pursuit, disobeying an officer’s signal, reckless driving, passing in a no passing zone, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, possessing an illegible registration plate, and having a window tint without a DMV approval sticker.

The incident took place on June 8. According to a report, Paladino was driving a vehicle with a covering over the license plate. The vehicle also had very dark window tint, police said.
Eventually the officer was able to read the plate and discovered the registered owner had active arrest warrant, according to a report.

The officer activated his emergency lights and siren in an attempt to pull the vehicle over, but Paladino accelerated and passed another while attempting to get away, a report says. At the time it was rush hour traffic and the streets had a high volume of traffic, a report indicates.
Paladino had a suspended driver’s license, police said.
