Man Posts High Bond After Southington Pickaxe Rampage: Report

A man accused of busting up a home in Southington with a pickaxe has posted a high bond in the case.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man accused of busting up a home in Southington with a pickaxe has posted a $50,000 bond in the case and is due in court in September, records show.

The case dates back to June 17, when Southington Police responded to a local residence on a report of a man who was "out of control." Police were told that the man, identified as Jeff Lee, 58, of Southington, was involved in a dispute with another person at the home, a report indicates.

Lee then went to the basement of the home and began to destroy the walls with a pickxe and then threatened a person who was in the home, according to a repoort.

Lee was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and sxecond-degree threatening. He has a Sept. 17 court date, rercords show.
