Meet The Southington Police Dept. Community Relations Officer

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Meet Officer Chris Laporte, the Southington Police Department's Community Relations Officer.

In the course of a given work week, Laporte assists with our schools as a resource officer and a proctor of safe school drills. Laporte is also involved with the SPD's police cadet program and truancy meetings.

He also coordinates the STEPS program and the juvenile review board meetings.

Oh and he helps with car seat installations.

"Officer Laporte has consistently demonstrated a community first approach to his conduct as a police officer," the SPD said in a recent social media post. "We are grateful for his efforts to our community."

The SPD plans to feature his work within the community more in the future.
