Missing Southington Man Found Deceased in New Britain
A missing Southington man was found deceased on New Britain on Tuesday, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man who was missing for more than a week was found deceased in New Britain on Tuesday, police said.
Southington police announced at 2:43 p.m. on Tuesday that New Britain police notified them that Charles Davenport was found dead.
The case is currently being handled by the New Britain Police Department.

New Britain police said he was found in the city at about 8 a.m. New Britain police said there is no criminal element to the discovery. They did not say exactly where he was found, citing an ongoing investigation.
A cause of death will be determined by the coroner, police said.

"The Southington Police Dept. would like to thank all of the various agencies and residents who provided their assistance during this investigation," Southington police said in a statement.
The search for Davenport had been extensive. A Silver Alert had been issued for Davenport on Nov. 28, the day after the 56-year-old went missing.
Police on Monday released more images of him in an effort to step up the search.
Davenport was a carpenter by trade, police said.
