'Modernization' Completed At Plantsville McDonald's

The McDonald's in the Plantsville section of Southington is the latest restaurant to complete "modernization" in Connecticut.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The McDonald's in the Plantsville section of Southington is the latest restaurant to complete "modernization" in Connecticut.

Dino and Robyn Karatzas, the local owner/operators of the Plantsville McDonald’s have scheduled grand opening activities on Tuesday starting at 10 a.m.

The event will feature members of the Connecticut House of Representatives, including Speaker of the House Joe Aresemowicz and State Reps. John Fusco and Liz Linehan.

Additionally, a check donation will be made to JFK middle school as well as the American Legion. Also, the restaurant will host a Coffee with a Cop event starting at 9:30 a.m. with Southington Police Department.

McDonald’s recently announced that the company and its franchisees are investing approximately $84 million in Connecticut throughout 2018 and 2019 on the "construction and modernization" of 90 McDonald’s restaurants. The goal is, "transforming the customer experience inside and outside the restaurant."

In total, McDonald’s and franchisees are investing $6 billion to modernize most U.S. restaurants by 2020, including most restaurants in Connecticut.
