NEW BRITAIN — A new kind of café is opening its doors at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, one built not just on great coffee, but on connection, inclusion, and community.

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is celebrating the opening of the second location of BeanZ & Co., inside a healthcare setting. The goal is to bring the inclusive coffee café dedicated to creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to the hospital.

The new café offers a welcoming space for patients, families, visitors, and staff to recharge, connect, and feel at home.

BeanZ & Co. was founded with a mission to address the staggering reality that approximately 80% of individuals with IDD are unemployed or underemployed. Through an inclusive workforce model, where all employees share responsibilities, support one another, and are equally valued, the cafe demonstrates what a truly inclusive workplace can look like.

Having BeanZ & Co. at the Hospital of Central Connecticut will advance the patient and visitor experience while continuing awareness of inclusive employment and helping give back to our community.
