More Southington Families Need Help This Christmas: Town

Southington Community Services is looking for more help in 'adopting' families in need of holiday help this year.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — So far, Southington Community Services reports that 1,300 residents (650 families) will receive holiday gift help from the department.

But, according to community services, many more are still in need and Southington needs help helping them via the "Adopt a Family" program.

"There are only a few weeks left until the holidays and we still have individuals and families who need to be adopted," wrote the town.

Those who are adopted are provided information about the families regarding what is being requested to make their children's Christmas better.

In addition to or instead of adopting a family, residents can donate items via a "wish list" set up through Amazon by the town.
