New Emergency Alert System Unveiled In Southington

The town this week released details of how folks can have their phones and/or cell phones registered to receive emergency alerts.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Town officials this week announced that area residents can sign up for a new alert system should disaster strike Southington.

The Town of Southington utilizes a Citizen Alert System powered by Voyent Alert in order to notify residents regarding emergencies and other important community news.

This system enables the town to provide people with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods.

"You will receive time-sensitive messages wherever you specify, such as your home, mobile or business phones, email address, and/or text messages," wrote the Town of Southington.
