New Fuel Depot Planned for Southington Highway Garage

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Highway Department is getting a new fuel depot and work could begin as early as the spring, town officials said.

Bids wen out on Friday and need to be in by March 2, town officials said.

The project consists of installing a new fuel island — including pumps, a canopy, a fuel management system, a 20,000-gallon gas/diesel above-ground storage tank, paving and the removal of two, 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks at the Town of Southington Highway Garage.

The garage is located at Della Bitta Drive off Mulberry Street.
