New Southington Library Boasts Convenient Feature For Its Users
Part of the recently opened, $16.9-million facility, this library feature allows folks to do their civic duty and never leave their vehicle.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A quick burger or a morning coffee is not on the menu at Southington's latest drive-through operation.
But it does give folks the chance to better do their civic duty and return to the public's literature after enjoying a read themselves.
One of the new Southington Public Library's newest features is a drive-through book deposit window where folks don't even have to get out of their vehicle to return library items.

"Don't get out of your car to return materials," wrote the library recently. "Use our drive-up drop and stay warm this winter. It is located in the back of the building."
Located in the back of the new, state-of-the-art library on 255 Main St., the drive-through collection is well protected via numerous bollard poles that should keep cars outside the building.

And, in doing so, the collection area allows folks to stay inside the warmth of their vehicles if all they plan on doing is returning their books on time.
Of course, guests are always invited to the new, $16.9 million library that officially was dedicated on Dec. 7, 2024.
