No-Buzz Beer Topic Of Unique Southington Library Program

SOUTHINGTON, CT — For many suds aficionados, beer isn't about what happens after you drink it.

It's about the taste while you drink it, and with non-alcoholic beer a possibility, a Southington program this week will enlighten folks about what is available in this fast-growing trend.

The Southington Public Library will host an educational program Wednesday evening exploring the growing popularity of non-alcoholic beer and the science behind modern brewing techniques.

The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. on May 13 at the library, 255 Main St., and will feature speaker Taylor Deegan of Worldwide Wine and Spirits in Southington.

According to organizers, the presentation will examine how advances in brewing technology have improved the taste and variety of non-alcoholic beers, contributing to rapid growth in the market.

Topics will include the science behind non-alcoholic brewing methods, evolving flavor profiles and consumer trends driving demand for alcohol-free alternatives.

Library officials said the event is intended for a wide audience, including residents participating in “dry” months, people seeking to reduce alcohol consumption and craft beer enthusiasts interested in the changing beverage industry.
