Old Southington Schoolhouse Open To Public On Sunday

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Historical Society will host an open house at South End School House on South End Road on Sunday, Sept. 29.

It will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Admission is free and parking is available at the adjacent Recreation Park.

Until the one-room school closed in 1955, it served for 200 years at the primary education for children in southeastern Southington.

"Come explore one of Southington's three historic schoolhouses and experience a bit of how children learned way back when," wrote the historical society.
