PLAINVILLE - For 60 years, PARC, Inc. has improved the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families through services and programs promoting education and inclusion in the community at large.
To mark the 60th anniversary, the 60-60-60 campaign was launched Aug. 16 to raise $60,000 in 60 days, according to PARC Executive Director Erica DonovaFrank Robinson Sr., whose family has been involved in PARC for many decades, developed the idea and had a lot of fun doing so, he said. To encourage donors to focus on the “60” he created a list of “qualifications” to donate $6, $60, $660, $6,000 or any other amount incorporating the number. His ideas include: those who are celebrating a 60th class reunion, 60th birthday or 60th wedding anniversary; if their address has 60 in it; if a sports player, their jersey was 60; those who have owned a 1960s car; “even those who have 1960s outfit in your closet,” Robinson said. “Or if you own 60 pairs of shoes.”
Donations can be made securely at the website parcdisabilitiesct.org or by sending a check to PARC, Inc. P.O. Box 15, 28 E. Maple St., Plainville, CT 06062.
