Southington's Water Main Maintenance, What You Need To Know

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Spring is here and the town's water department is doing its annual spring cleaning of the water mains in Southington.

The Southington Water Department Monday unveiled a long list of 82 local streets that will be impacted this week by water main maintenance operations starting Monday and lasting through Saturday, April 1.

Cleaning out the water mains is a regular maintenance procedure that causes temporary disruptions in water quality and service.

The water department is asking folks in affected areas to check their water before doing laundry and to "excuse any temporary discolorization."

Water mains on roads affected will be cleaned in no particular order and operations are dependent on the weather and staff availability, town officials said.
