PD: Two Arrested for Stealing from Lake Compounce

Two people were allegedly going through other people's bags.

Two people were arrested on July 27 after they were allegedly caught stealing bags from Lake Compounce.

Security at the park received complaints from a guest who witnessed two people take a bag from a ride storage area that didn’t appear to belong to them, police said.

Natalie Morales, 33, of Hartford allegedly told Luis Santana, 24, of East Hartford which bag to take. He wrapped it in a towel and ran into the men’s bathroom.

Security identified the two and detained them. Security found a debit card, various gift cards, and two iPhone 6 models.

Another witness reported seeing Santana throw cards from his sandals into the woods before police detained him, police said.

The total value of items taken was $1,260.

Morales was charged with conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.

Santana was charged with conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and fourth-degree larceny.
