Police Looking for Man Involved in Gas Station Armed Robbery

Police released an image of the the hold-up on Thursday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Police are looking for a man who pulled out a gun and robbed a Southington gas station on Tuesday.

Police said that at 6:48 p.m. on Tuesday, they received a report about an armed robbery at the Fleet gas station, 1611 Meriden Waterbury Turnpike.

Police said they were told an Asian male entered the store and said “register” to the store clerk while displaying a black semi-automatic type handgun.

The clerk took the money out of the register, police said.

The suspect took the undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store on foot to a parking lot next door, police said.

Police said they believe the suspect fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.

Police released a surveillance image of the thief on Thursday.

The suspect is being described as an Asian male, approximately 5-foot-6 and about 200 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt under a dark gray puffy winter jacket, police said. The man had a hood on and was wearing a black ski mask above the nose, police said. He had on black running pants with tapered legs, and bright, royal blue “Nike” sneakers with white soles and white piping along the ankle area, police said.

The suspect appears to be right-handed from the images.

The getaway car is being described as possibly a late 1990s to 2000 small to mid-size import car, greenish gray in color.
