Police Seize 104 Marijuana Plants, 6.5 Pounds from Southington Residence

Police arrested two people on drug charges after police found an alleged marijuana-growing operation after responding to a reported assault.
Police seized 104 marijuana plants, 6.5 pounds of marijuana ready for sale and $3,165 in cash from two residential homes on the property of 2164 Mount Vernon Road.
Officers responded to a reported assault on April 12. They found Matthew Dufresne, 36, of Bristol was assaulting another man.

Police used tasers, pepper spray, a police baton and a K-95 against Matthew Dufresne, 36, of Bristol with little effect, according to police. They eventually got him to the ground and subdued him.
During the investigation police found the alleged growing operation and after a lengthy investigation applied for arrest warrants.

Dufresne was charged with cultivation of marijuana over one kilogram, possession with intent to sell over one kilogram, possession of marijuana over four ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $125,000 bond. .
Christian Kelley, 37, of Bristol was charged with the same and given a $150,000 bond.
In addition Dufresne was previously charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, interfering with police and second-degree breach of peace.
