Queen Street Site Approvals Pave Way for Aldi, Chick-fil-A

Four plans were approved for the Queen Street corridor.

SOUTHINGTON — The Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday endorsed a new plaza on Queen Street that will include a Chick-fil-A restaurant and an Aldi supermarket.

A developer had requested a special permit to build multiple buildings on four Queen Street properties, the Record-Journal reported.

Each request was approved by a 6-1 vote with commission member James Macchio voting in opposition, the R-J reported.
