Regional Foundation Aims To Help Inmates Return To Society

Community Foundation of Greater New Britain

SOUTHINGTON/BERLIN, CT — A New Britain-based giving foundation that also supports Southington and Berlin causes is looking for grants from organizations that help reformed prisoners back into society.

The Catalyst Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB) is inviting grant applications for one grant of up to $15,000 to be awarded in November addressing the 2023 topic of "Prison Re-entry."

They discussed the challenging process of re-entering the community for formerly incarcerated individuals.

The CFGNB seeks applications from community-based nonprofit organizations that aim to improve reentry and support individuals who are currently, or were formerly, involved in the criminal justice system.

The goal is to help individuals to gain knowledge, skills, and support to transition successfully from incarceration and into the community.

Organizations that offer these services in Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington are invited to respond to the foundation’s request for proposals (RFP) for the 2023 Catalyst Giving Circle grant.
