Regional Foundation Has Scholarship Cash Available For Southington Students

Applications for all scholarships administered by the Bristol-based Main Street Community Foundation are due March 6.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A regional Bristol-based community foundation has announced that college scholarships are available for students in towns it serves, including Southington.

Students in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott are invited to submit applications for financial support from 100 scholarship funds administered by the Main Street Community Foundation.

These scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, current college students, and adult learners who are or will be attending two or four-year colleges or universities, career certification programs, or technical/vocational schools.

The deadline for all scholarship applications is March 6 at 11:59 p.m.

A full list of available scholarships, their eligibility criteria, and the link to the online application portal are available on the MSCF website via this link.

Each scholarship has unique eligibility criteria defined by the donors who established the funds.

Criteria can include items such as interests and career goals, academic achievement, financial need, and town residence.

All applications are reviewed by a volunteer committee through a competitive, blinded application process, and recommendations on recipients are made to the foundation’s board of directors.
