Regional Giving Foundation Has Strong Southington Ties
The Main Street Community Foundation recently elected two Southington residents to its board and another its chairman.

SOUTHINGTON/BRISTOL, CT — Recent elections of officers for a regional giving foundation had a distinctive "Southington" flair, with the new head and two new members hailing from town.
The Bristol-based Main Street Community Foundation celebrated the accomplishments of 2023 at its recent annual meeting while also electing new board of directors officers and members.

Southington residents Paula A. Knight and Wyland Dale Clift were elected to the board, while Dan Daigle of Southington was elected chairman of the board.
In 2023, the foundation doled out a record $2.4 million to support the communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott.

The Main Street Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the communities served by encouraging and promoting gift planning, prudent stewardship of assets, effective grantmaking, and community leadership.
A nonprofit public charity, created by private citizens, the foundation works with donors in the organization's service towns.
Since its founding in 1995, the foundation has provided over $28.2 million in grants and scholarships.
