Remarkable Progress in Education Under Republican Leadership

Southington Education has significantly progressed in the past four years led by the professionally competent Republican majority Board of Education. 

Major accomplishments:  

• Prioritized and advanced student safety in every public school in Southington 
• Significantly improved and moved student achievement forward each year.
  
• Raisied our already high standards of curriculum, teaching, classroom tools, environment and educational programs, opening each student to greater post high school opportunities. 
  
• Upgraded technology. 
• Improved communications, enhancing flow of information and collaboration. 
• Moved into a new and efficient BOE facility, the Southington Munipal Center
• BOE, Administration and staff work in a new spirit of cooperation with the Town Council, Board of Finance, the Town Manager while opening discussion and planning to effective and welcome bi-partisan support.  

With Republican leadership and collaboration, the Board of Education has made great strides forward. 

• Each year, greater numbers of SHS graduates are enrolling in the finest universities in the country.  
• Southington’s unique educational model, 
• Vision 2020, has all our educational resources working to prepare every student for excellence in achieving his/her uniquely special place in the world of the 21st century.
