"Revival 2023" outdoor summer tent celebration on August 3-5

Three-night event to feature live music by local and national Christian artists, speakers, food trucks and fun

First Congregational Church of Thomaston, 135 Main Street, is organizing Revival 2023, an outdoor summer tent celebration on its front lawn on August 3-5. Admission is free and open to the public. Hours on Thursday and Friday are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Hours on Saturday are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., preceded by the 6 pm Firemen’s Parade.

Revival 2023 will feature live testimonies of God’s amazing grace; inspirational live music by the Revival Sound band from Southington, singer Cat Leigh from Bristol, and nationally-acclaimed Gospel Doo-Wop singer Walter Santos from Hightstown, New Jersey. Santos grew up in New York City and became a talented live concert and studio percussionist, performing with Weather Report, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker and The Outlaws. However, the fast life of sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll led him to drug addiction. He will share how he was delivered and has lived a radically transformed life. He is now an ordained pastor of a church, a police and emergency services chaplain, and a chaplain for the U.S. Secret Service.

Drew Crandall, President of WIHS 104.9 FM Christian Radio in Middletown, will be the keynote speaker on Saturday evening. Since Thomaston is famous for its clockmaking heritage, Crandall’s closing message will be, “The Clock is Ticking: Living Life to its Fullest.”
