When enjoying ice cream, fans do not usually consider the science of making the tasty treat. On Thursday, June 9, Southington Care Center Chef Jack Hodes will create quick freeze ice cream using liquid nitrogen to make mini portions, meeting almost every culinary preference whether low fat, dairy free and more. This free program, sponsored by Hartford HealthCare Senior Services, will be held 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., at Calendar House, 388 Pleasant St.

Seating is limited and registration is required. To RSVP, call the senior center at 860.621.3014.
