Scout Planning ADA Canoe Launch for Southington River
It is part of an Eagle Scout project.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — An area Boy Scout plans to build a handicapped-accessible canoe launch in town along the Southington River.
The Floodplain application submitted by Parker Arai, was approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission on Sept. 19.
Arai, a Cheshire resident, wants to construct an ADA-compliant canoe launch, pathway and recessed platform on town-owned land at 64 Mill St.,m officials said. It is part of his Eagle Scout project.

The proposal had previously been approved at the Inland Wetlands level. No timetable was discussed at a recent PZC meeting.
