Serious Injuries Reported After Vehicle Collision In Southington: Police

The Southington PD said one vehicle crossed the center line of a local roadway early Sunday morning and slammed into another car.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local police are investigating a violent crash in Southington over the weekend that seriously injured two.

The two-vehicle crash early Sunday left two people with possible serious injuries, according to the Southington Police Department.

Police said officers responded at about 12:39 a.m. Sunday, March 15, in the area of 1500 Mount Vernon Road after receiving reports of a collision involving two vehicles and serious injuries.

The department responded alongside the Southington Fire Department and American Medical Response.

According to police, a Honda Civic traveling northbound lost control while navigating a curve on Mount Vernon Road.

Investigators said the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Lexus sedan traveling in the opposite direction.

The occupants of the Honda were transported to a hospital for treatment of possible serious injuries, police said.

The occupants of the Lexus were treated at the scene by American Medical Response and suffered minor injuries.

The department’s accident investigation team responded to examine the crash scene and determine the cause of the collision.
