Services Set for Southington Teen Struck and Killed on Highway

Calling hours are slated for Wednesday, and a Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday.

Michael Andrew Shore, 14, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2016.

He was born in New Britain on April 8, 2002, son of Andrea (Aszklar) Shore-Barrett and her husband, Richard J. Barrett of Southington and Michael J. Shore of Plainville. He is the brother of Kayli and Vanessa Hernandez of Southington and Xenna Shore; stepbrother of Jonathan, Kelly and Karoline Barrett; maternal grandson of Deborah Galiette and Anthony Aszklar, Sr. and his wife Jessica of Southington; paternal grandson of William Shore and the late Pamela Shore and great-grandson of Elsie Galiette of Southington and the late Deacon Andrew Galiette. Michael is also survived by his several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Michael will always be remembered for his infectious smile, warm heart and his willingness to offer his assistance to everyone he knew and loved.

Friends may visit with his family at Beecher & Bennett - Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. All are invited to go directly to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington, on Thursday, Dec. 29 for a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
