Several Hurt in Southington Van Crash

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police are investigating a serious accident that took place Friday on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike near the intersection of Old Mountain Road.

Police said the initial investigation showed the driver of a Chrysler Grand Voyager was traveling Eastbound on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike. It veered off the right shoulder and struck a tree, police said.

Several occupants of the vehicle, including the operator, sustained serious injuries during the collision, police said.

All of the occupants were transported to an area hospital for treatment and the extent of the injuries was not known on Tuesday, police said.
