A police standoff in Southington on Saturday ended with a man being taken into custody after a shot was fired.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A police standoff in Southington on Saturday ended with a man being taken into custody after a shot was fired, a report says.

At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the Southington Police Department received a call about a man inside
the residence at 60 Long Lane with a firearm, according to a report.

The man had barricaded himself in the home and no one else was in the home at the time, police said.

Police arrived on scene and the Central Region Emergency Response team was activated.

The male fired one round from the home during this incident, but was "negotiated out" of the dwelling and taken into custody, police said.

He was then transported to an area medical center for evaluation, police said.

There were no injuries, police said, and incident remains under investigation.
