Smashburger Announces Grand Opening Of Fourth Connecticut Restaurant

Smashburger, the nation’s fastest growing “better burger” restaurant, today announced that it will open its fourth Connecticut restaurant in Southington at 842 Queen Street on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, with a celebratory ribbon cutting at 11:00am; doors will open to the public at noon. Smashburger Southington will be franchised by The Mohegan Holding Company, LLC, a business diversification entity owned and operated by the Mohegan Tribe.

At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash. It starts with 100 percent fresh, never frozen, All-natural Certified Angus Beef® that is smashed on a 400-degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, the delicious burgers are served on toasted artisan buns and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses, and highest-quality condiments.

The new Smashburger in Southington will feature a menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind. In honor of the University of Connecticut’s Siberian Husky mascot, the menu includes a Husky Smashburger and Husky Chicken sandwich with American cheese, mayo, hot pepper relish, red onions, lettuce and smoked applewood sliced bacon.

Smashburger has over 365 restaurant locations across the United States and is more than just burgers. Customers can also enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches and fresh-tossed signature salads, along with a variety of irresistible sides including rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of beverages ranging from hand-spun shakes to root beer floats in frosted mugs, and various selections of wine and beer including a local brew from Hooker Brewery of Connecticut.

The 2,400 square-foot Southington Smashburger will offer dining room seating for 63 guests and additional guests on the outdoor patio. This is the fourth Smashburger franchise location for the Mohegan Holding Company, LLC, with plans for twenty more across New England in the coming years.
