Smashburger Opening a Smash in Southington
Free milkshakes were at stake for those lining up early.

SOUTHINGTON — The opening of a Smashburger location on Queen Street is, well, smashing.
The Record-Journal reported long lines forming in anticipation of the noon opening.
The first 50 customers received free milkshakes for a year and the chance to win a $50 card.

Early Wednesday morning, several people were already lined up outside the restaurant, at 842 Queen St.

Mohegan Restaurant Group, owned by the Mohegan tribe, will run the restaurant, according to Christine Ferris, Smashburger corporate spokeswoman.
