Snowmaking Window Allows Mount Southington To Set Opening Day
Mount Southington has scheduled its opening day for the 2018-19 skiing and snowboarding season.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Mount Southington has scheduled its 2018-19 opening day for Saturday.
President and General manager Duane Bass said Thursday that a three-day snowmaking window around the Thanksgiving cold snap set the stage.
Snowmaking operations were shut down Saturday, but large enough piles were built to give the groomers enough snow to open both beginner and top-to-bottom terrain for the weekend, Bass said.
