Social Security's Future Topic Of Southington Forum
U.S. Rep. John Larson, D-1st District, will be in Southington Thursday to discuss legislation that aims to improve Social Security benefits.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local congressman will be in Southington Thursday to discuss the ongoing and ever-evolving situation regarding the future of Social Security.
U.S. Rep. John Larson, D-1st District, will be at the Calendar House Senior Center in Southington, 388 Pleasant St., at 11 a.m. for a special Social Security forum.
Larson will discuss efforts to protect and enhance Social Security, which has become a hot-button issue this election season.

His "Social Security 2100 Act" aims to improve SS benefits by 2 percent for all and up to 5 percent for those receiving benefits for 15 years or more, among other changes.
