Southington Apple Fest Planning Churns Along

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Planning continues this summer regarding Southington's signature community event, which takes place every fall.

The 2022 Apple Harvest Festival is a gem on the local calendar and it annually transforms the Southington Town Green into a blissful New England scene of autumn serenity and celebration.

This year's event is slated for two weekends — Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 and Oct. 7-9 — and planning for such events is coming along fast and furious.

Two key elements are still being finalized for this year, parade participants and event sponsorships.

The parade is Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. and if the weather doesn't cooperate, it will be on Sunday, Oct. 9.

• Meanwhile, event organizers are also looking for sponsors to both help out the financial necessities with putting on such an event and allow local businesses and organizations a chance to show what they have to offer.

"Sponsors play an integral part in the operations of our yearly Festival - without them, many of our special events and activities would simply not be possible," reads the Southington Apple Festival website.
