Southington Autozone Robbed At Gunpoint, Local Man Charged: Police

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon, with the suspect later taken into custody by police from his Southington home.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man is accused of the armed robbery of a local Autozone auto parts store late Tuesday afternoon, March 18.

According to the Southington Police Department, Hector Roman, 46, of Southington, has been charged with first-degree robbery; sixth-degree larceny; first-degree reckless endangerment; first-degree threatening; second-degree breach of peace; and interfering with a police officer.

Police said he was held on a $250,000 bond and appeared in court on Wednesday, March 19.

The SPD said at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the Autozone located at 60 Interstate Park Drive, Southington, for a report of a robbery with a firearm.

Investigators were able to learn the suspect stole items from Autozone, police said.

According to police, when the suspect was confronted by a store employee, the suspect pointed what the victim believed to be a black pistol at them.

The suspect was later identified as Roman and he was later located at his residence and taken into custody.

A search of the residence later yielded clothing matching the description provided by the victim, as well as two black-colored, pistol-style BB guns.
