Southington Bar Incident Lands Man With Sexual Assault Charge

A Southington bar incident has landed a Naugatuck man with a sexual assault charge.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Naugatuck man has been charged with sexual assault for an incident at a Southington bar, police said.

Karey Swaim, 38, of Naugatuck, surrendered on Jan. 4 at the Southington Police Department on an active arrest warrant, police said. The warrant charged him with fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct and the charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on Dec. 7 at the Blackstone Pub.

The establishment is located at 1678 Meriden Waterbury Rd.

Swaim is accused approached a woman and squeezed her buttocks, according to a report.

Swaim then walked away and left the bar, police said. The accused posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Jan. 14.
