Southington Baseball Coach Charlie Lembo Dies At 62: Report
He died over the weekend following a year-long cancer battle. "He was one of a kind," his assistant coach told the Record-Journal.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Longtime Southington High School baseball coach Charlie Lembo died on Saturday night at age 62 following a year-long cancer battle, the Record-Journal reported.
"He was one of a kind," Brian Crowley, Southington High School's assistant baseball coach, told the Record-Journal. "Once he came to the community, he entrenched himself in it."
Lembo never had a losing season in the 10 years he coached the Blue Knights, the newspaper said, and he ended his career in Southington with a record of 178-57.
